INFORMATION REGARDING NOTIFICATIONS DURING WINTER WEATHER SITUATIONS
In most cases, a decision to close or delay school due to bad weather is made prior to 5:30 a.m. The information will first be posted on the Forney ISD website at www.forneyisd.net and then sent out through the District’s phone, text and email notification system to all Forney ISD families. If you have not received any calls or emails from your child’s school or from the District, please contact the campus to make sure they have the correct phone number for you on file.
A notice will also be posted on the Forney ISD mobile app. Be sure to download the Forney ISD mobile app to your phone or tablet to receive those notifications.
In addition, the District will also post the information on the Forney ISD Facebook page and send out a notification through Twitter. The District will also contact all of the local television stations (Channels 4, 5, 8 and 11), and all local Forney publications with the information. Please understand that there may be a delay between the time the District provides the local television stations with the information and the time they actually post it on the air. The district website, Facebook and the phone and email notifications will be the best sources for the most accurate information.
