Volunteering for Forney ISD
In an effort to maintain safety for our students and staff, Forney ISD requires all individuals who will be a volunteer, serve as a field trip chaperone, or serve as an independent contractor to satisfy a two-step process:
Step 1: Complete an online training module and assessment regarding volunteering/serving on campus; and
Step 2: Submit an authorization to conduct a criminal history check. (Instructions will be provided via email once step 1 is finished.)
Both steps must be completed annually. Forney ISD has practices in place to keep any information submitted through the form or obtained through the criminal history check secure/confidential. Participants will be notified of their status once the background process has been completed. Those applying for approval may also check with a campus office to determine if their participation has been cleared/approved. Individuals should allow a minimum of 5 business days for processing.

After being approved as a volunteer (activity participant or contractor) you will receive additional email communication as to how to create an online account with VOMO, a software platform that allows for communications about volunteer opportunities and needs, the tracking of volunteer hours, and qualification for recognition/awards. All Forney ISD volunteers are encouraged to register with a VOMO account. Look for a follow up email after being approved as a volunteer!
