Updated Student Dress Code for 2022-2023
Hello Forney Family,
We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. As we prepare to start school on August 11, 2022, we wanted to share an updated dress code.
Forney ISD has a student dress code policy for all grades and all campuses. The dress code gives the district a positive and distinctive identity and reflects the values of the schools and community. All students are required to wear the appropriate dress each day except for those days designated as non-dress code days at the discretion of the school administrators.
The use of a school dress code is established to improve student self-esteem, bridge socio-economic differences among students, and promote positive behavior, thereby enhancing school safety and improving the learning environment.
For the 2022-2023 school year, two of the most significant changes are: (1) no clothing with hoods (such as hoodies, jackets, coats, etc.) may be worn inside the building at any time and (2) dresses, skirts and skorts are allowed for Pre-K through 4th grade students only.
For a full dress code and other minor changes, please visit www.forneyisd.net/dresscode.
Thank you for partnering with us to help prepare students for a safe and successful future.
